Sr. Accountant

Senior Accountant

Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant with a background in construction accounting or public accounting to join their team in an in-office environment. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who brings strong GAAP knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to support financial reporting, close activities, audit preparation, and ongoing process improvements.

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required, and a CPA is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and statements of equity.
• Support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including coordination of timelines and deliverables.
• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain supporting documentation.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis, including explanations of budget-to-actual results.
• Support annual audit activities, including preparation of schedules, lead sheets, and responses to auditor requests.
• Maintain and help ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to support business decisions and operational improvements.
• Prepare routine and ad hoc financial reports for management review.
• Perform bank reconciliations and support inventory accounting processes.
• Review financial statements for HOAs and assist with related accounting inquiries as needed.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across departments to support financial objectives.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiencies.
• Communicate findings and analysis to the Controller and/or CFO.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
