Under supervision of the Director of the Family Resource Center (FRC), the FRC Support Specialist performs a broad range of advanced administrative and operational support tasks. This role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the office while providing high-level administrative support to leadership and staff. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance office management tasks in a fast‑paced environment.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED,
    AND
  • Three (3) years of experience in administrative support, office coordination, or executive assistant roles.
  • Associate’s degree in Business Administration or related field PREFERRED
    .
  • A comparable amount of education and experience may be substituted for the minimum requirements.
  • May be required to successfully complete and pass required skills testing.

Background Screening: This position will require an extensive background investigation.

Essential Functions
  • Manage schedules, appointments, and office operations.
  • Maintain office systems and supplies.
  • Order supplies and maintain stock levels.
  • Screen incoming calls and transfer to the correct individual.
  • Maintain sensitive and complex files and other pertinent records.
  • Perform audits on reports containing sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ensure timely submission of deliverables to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for change and make recommendations.
  • Research, analyze, and assemble data for reports.
  • Read and route incoming mail.
  • Perform highly specialized assignments using discretion and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Attend work on a regular and consistent basis.
  • Must adhere to Federal, State, County, and local ordinances.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Environmental Conditions
  • General office setting with most duties being performed while sitting at a desk, table, or workstation.
  • Must be able to work under stressful conditions.
  • Must be able to relocate to other county locations based upon operational needs.
  • Must be able to remain available to work when a public emergency or disaster occurs.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with command staff.

  • Must have time management, organization, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Must be detail oriented.

  • VSO General Orders and procedures.
  • Federal, state, county and local laws and ordinances.
  • Modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.
  • Business English, spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
  • Resources and research techniques.
  • May require knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures.
Physical Requirements
