Position: OPS DENTAL HYGIENIST - 64964520

Position Overview

This position serves as an OPS Dental Hygienist on Volusia County's Dental Outreach Program in Volusia County.

It works under the general supervision of the Public Health Services Manager‑B SES in the dental outreach program and provides professional support and technical assistance to staff, community agencies and the general public.

Assigned to the School Based Sealant Program to provide preventative dental services for elementary school students.

Provides education through community events and health fairs in partnership with the Florida Department of Health.

Might require working with the Dept. of Health dental clinics in Daytona Beach and Orange City.

Requires travel between multiple work sites.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs or more
  • Ability to provide instruction/education to patients in preventative dental health techniques
  • Ability to complete and maintain patients medical records
Qualifications
  • Willing to physically come in the office to perform duties & responsibilities
  • Current authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Experience providing dental assessments
  • Currently licensed to practice dental hygiene
  • Preferred:
    Experience working with children
  • Computer knowledge (Outlook, HMS)
  • Effective communication with people of different cultural and educational backgrounds
