Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution.
- Professional experience in business, office administration, computer applications, information technology, workforce training, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse learners.
- Experience teaching or training adult learners, including ESOL students or students developing foundational academic skills.
- Experience teaching Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint or related productivity tools.
- Experience with instruction in digital literacy, workplace technology, reading, math, language, communication, or workforce readiness skills.
- Experience preparing students for Microsoft Office Specialist or other technology-related industry certification exams.
- Familiarity with workforce education, career pathways, or Integrated Education and Training models.
- Current or prior Microsoft Office Specialist certification, Microsoft Certified Educator certification, or related technology credential preferred.
Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis and remain active for one (1) year.
Important NotesAdjunct positions are part‑time, temporary assignments for no more than one (1) semester at a time. Opportunities are filled based on student enrollment and the instructional needs of the College.
Responsibilities- Teach courses in accordance with college and departmental policies and procedures, as well as Basic Course Information sheets.
- Prepare and submit timely grade reports and other reports on student performance as scheduled or required.
- Organize class activities and assignments, relating them to the overall learning outcomes of the course.
- Provide input and work with other faculty and staff to review, produce and/ or select course-related materials.
- Extensive knowledge of the subject area(s) in which the individual is responsible for instruction.
- Knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of effective communication and of effective instruction.
- Knowledge and understanding of the characteristics and challenges of community college students.
- Knowledge and understanding of principles of curriculum development.
- Computer literate and able to navigate in a Windows environment.
