Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Associate UAS Engineer to contribute to design, engineering, and production of large Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) tailored for agricultural applications. This role requires a hands‑on, multi‑disciplinary engineer who can manage and execute the full product lifecycle. The ideal candidate has a background in UAS engineering, avionics, and systems integration, along with a passion for precision agriculture and innovative aerial technology.
Your meaningful work will help reduce the spread of vector‑borne disease and limit the amount of chemicals or emissions released into the environment (through rural and urban municipalities, agricultural applications, horticultural applications, and more!). You’ll accomplish this work from our assembly shop in Daytona Beach, Florida.
- Follow design schematics to create wire harnesses and other various UAS parts
- Prepare and receive shipments of goods to and from customers/suppliers
- Contact customers for support and troubleshoot issues to find the best solutions
- Assemble large‑scale UAS from documented processes
- Diagnose, repair, and test UAS that are received for service
- Program electronics that are incorporated into the final design of an aircraft
- Field work to support UAS application operations, requires travel
- BS/BA in UAS (Uncrewed Aircraft Systems), Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, or other related fields
- 2+ years of professional, related experience
- Prior experience utilizing hand and power tools (bandsaw, drill press, grinder, circular saw, Dremel)
- Prior quality soldering experience
- Able to understand and utilize schematics
- Class D Driver’s license
- Experience working with Ardupilot firmware and GCS software (Missionplanner, QGround Control)
- Experience with CAD or other solid modeling
- Past RC aircraft experience
- DOT hazmat shipping certification
- Part 107 Certification
- Prior aircraft assembly/maintenance experience
- This position is based in a low (audio) volume assembly shop. This position requires the frequent use of a computer, small hand tools (soldering, hot glue gun, hand tools).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications and software.
- Physical requirements:
Standing, sitting, walking and climbing on uneven or grassy terrain, reaching. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a frequent basis. - The candidate must be willing to travel up to 10‑20% of a work week.
