James Moore & Co., P.L.’s HR Solutions team is currently partnering with Bob’s Space Racers in the search for a highly skilled and hands-on Senior Mechanical Engineer
. This full-time opportunity is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys owning projects from concept to production, mentoring others, and contributing directly to innovative product development.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for leading the design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of mechanical systems and products that support company operations and manufacturing. This role provides technical leadership, collaborates with cross-functional teams, mentors junior engineering staff, and ensures projects are completed efficiently and in alignment with company objectives and engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design and development of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems
- Oversee product development projects from concept through production
- Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Analyze product performance and recommend design improvements
- Support manufacturing operations through troubleshooting and technical expertise
- Collaborate with production, quality control, purchasing, and leadership teams
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and company procedures
- Conduct testing, validation, failure analysis, and prototype evaluations
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and technical staff
- Participate in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting activities
- Evaluate materials, manufacturing methods, and cost‑saving opportunities
- Assist with prototype fabrication and hands‑on testing when necessary
- Maintain accurate engineering records and documentation
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, and product development
- Proficiency in Solid Works and related engineering design tools
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Professional Engineering (PE) certification preferred
- Experience in manufacturing and production environments
- Experience leading engineering projects and mentoring team members
Knowledge of quality control standards and continuous improvement processes
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments
- Ability to occasionally lift materials or equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, and inspect production areas as needed
- Physical presence on‑site in Holly Hill, Florida is required
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project needs
