Position Overview

Lead Mission Systems Electronic Systems Design and Analysis Engineer – Daytona Beach, Florida.

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is a global leader in development, production, maintenance and enhancement of aircraft, satellites, human spaceflight programs and weapons. This role is part of the Mission Systems organization, focused on advanced communication, sensor, electronic warfare and electromagnetic systems. The engineer will translate requirements into system architectures and hardware/software designs, test and validate systems, and support fielded hardware/software throughout the lifecycle.

Position

Responsibilities
  • Understand and apply job practices, techniques, standards, principles, theories, and concepts
  • Develop, document and maintain electronic and electrical system requirements per customer desires and contract requirements
  • Create statement‑of‑work and technical performance specifications
  • Analyze, translate and implement requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications, showing traceability throughout the product life cycle
  • Test and validate designs to ensure system meets operational and functional requirements
  • Resolve product integration issues and production anomalies
  • Support fielded hardware and software over the entire product life cycle
  • Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements
  • Design hardware, software and interface specifications
  • Conduct research on technology advances for potential application to company business needs
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non‑US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Level 5 experience: 14+ years of work‑related experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 12+ years with a master’s, or 9+ years with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Physics or Chemistry
  • Experience with electronic system design, coding and testing
  • Experience developing or integrating mission systems for military aircraft
  • Experience with requirements management tools, including model‑based system engineering (MBSE) practices
  • Experience navigating Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
  • Experience designing mission‑systems architecture with customers
  • Experience analyzing system data
  • Experience working on an agile team and using Jira
  • Strong analytical, collaboration, communication and organizational skills
Security Clearance

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship required). A final Secret Clearance pre‑start is required.

Relocation

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Shift

1st shift.

Pay & Benefits

Competitive base pay ranging from $153,000 to $207,000 for Level 5 (Lead). Additional variable compensation and comprehensive benefits include health insurance, flexible spending accounts, retirement savings plans, paid time off, parental leave, 401(k) matching up to 10% with immediate 100% vesting, tuition assistance, and more.
