Assistant Controller-Daytona

Position: Assistant Controller-Daytona Beach
Our client in Daytona Beach is seeking a contract to hire (also open to direct hire) hands-on Assistant Controller to lead accounting operations, manage the financial close process, and drive process improvements within a fast-paced, multi-entity environment. This hybrid role partners closely with senior leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong controls, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Close & Reporting

* Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes

* Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules

* Oversee journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and account analysis

* Improve close timelines while maintaining accuracy

Accounting Operations

* Manage general ledger activity across multiple entities

* Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal policies

* Review complex transactions and strengthen internal controls

* Oversee cash management and treasury activities

Audit & Compliance

* Act as primary contact for external audits

* Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies

* Support audit requests, filings, and compliance requirements

Process Improvement

* Identify inefficiencies and implement scalable processes

* Drive automation and system improvements

* Support ERP enhancements and process redesign initiatives

Qualifications

Required:

* Active CPA

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

* 5+ years of accounting experience

* Strong GAAP knowledge

* Multi-entity and multi-state experience

* Advanced Excel skills

Preferred:

* Public accounting background

* Private equity experience

* M&A, integrations, or consolidations exposure

* Net Suite experience

Salary range:

$130-150K
