* Job Description:

* Utilizes physician preference cards to set up operating suites with appropriate surgical equipment and supplies. Assists the surgeon during surgeries by providing aid in exposure, hemostasis, closure, and other intraoperative technical functions. Positions patients appropriately, uses stabilizing equipment when necessary, and prioritizes patient comfort and safety. Provides visualization for operative sites using tissue manipulation, retraction, sponging, suction, and irrigation. Achieves temporary and permanent hemostasis by applying appropriate techniques.

Assists with body plane closures, wound dressing applications, and securing drainage systems. Promotes a safe environment and takes appropriate action in emergency situations. Maintains awareness and control of hazards that may endanger patients, visitors, and employees. Ensures adherence to appropriate regulatory standards and hospital policies and procedures. Assists the team with safe and appropriate operating room turnover times in an efficient and organized manner.

Supervises other healthcare team members in the surgical environment. Other duties as assigned.

* ABSA Surgical Assistant (SA) - EV Accredited Issuing Body, Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) - Accredited Issuing Body, Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) - EV Accredited Issuing Body, NBSTSA Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) - EV Accredited Issuing Body, State Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - EV Accredited Issuing Body

** Pay Range:*
* $15.00 - $130.00
