• Provides patients with supportive care during pre‑operative phases.
• Collects and labels specimens obtained during surgical procedures.
• Conducts instrument counts prior to surgical procedures.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients.
• Conducts field preparation and maintenance.
• Ensures the operating room is sterile.
• Monitors and tracks instrument counts throughout procedures.
• Maintains surgical instruments in an organized manner.
• Assists the team with safe and efficient operating room turnover times.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Technical/Vocational School (Required)
• ABSA Surgical Assistant (SA) – EV Accredited Issuing Body
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) – RQI Resuscitation Quality Improvement
• Basic Life Support – CPR Cert (BLS) – RQI Resuscitation Quality Improvement
• Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) – EV Accredited Issuing Body
• NBSTSA Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) – EV Accredited Issuing Body
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) – RQI Resuscitation Quality Improvement
• State Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – EV Accredited Issuing Body
• Technician in Surgery – Certified (NTSC) – EV Accredited Issuing Body
