Data Communications Specialist

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• One (1) year of experience maintaining computer equipment in a production environment
• Knowledge of hardware and software operating systems
• Ability to perform specialized technical work requiring general understanding of operating policies and procedures and their application to problems
• Ability to apply specialized technical or professional principles and practices in the solution of problems
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Must have attention to detail

• Repairs computers, printers, monitors, and related equipment; troubleshoots software and hardware problems; troubleshoots and configures operating systems (desktop).
• Installs, uninstalls, and configures new computers/software; assists/trains staff and users on procedures and equipment.
• Engage professionally with senior staff and administrators to ensure timely service delivery, responsive support, and a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Completes periodic and special reports on authorized disposition of college property and submits to supervisor.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of procedure manuals for responsible area.
• Reviews reports of property transferred to ensure computerized files indicate new location and custodial ownership.
• Interact professionally with senior staff and administrators to assure prompt delivery of services, response to needs and to promote top quality customer relations.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned and directed by the President or their designee.
