Senior Director, Technology Solutions

Brown & Brown is seeking a Senior Director, Technology Solutions to join our growing team in Daytona Beach, FL or Plano, TX.

Responsibilities
  • Set the long‑range direction for Enterprise toolsets and systems and partner with corporate functions to enable the business through reliable, secure, and customer‑centric technology.
  • Establish, plan, and administer overall policies and goals for Enterprise Technology Solutions; analyze technology needs and service delivery across corporate functions (Legal, Marketing Communications, Team Resources, Accounting & Finance, and Acquisitions) and identify practical ways to meet business objectives.
  • Lead research and selection of IT equipment, applications, and supplies—balancing speed, value, and long‑term sustainability.
  • Develop and execute budgets, policies, and procedures that strengthen the functional infrastructure and ensure disciplined governance.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve service ownership and service taxonomy, service level management, the service catalog, and service portfolio management to drive clarity and fast execution across the business.
  • Oversee ITIL service operations and transition activities (incident, problem, request, knowledge, change, and configuration management) to ensure rapid response, clear accountability, and dependable service for corporate partners.
  • Articulate and execute a practical communications strategy for service management to keep stakeholders informed, set expectations, and accelerate decision‑making.
  • Enable continual service improvement through transparent metrics tied to key performance indicators and critical success factors, using data to prioritize, act, and deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Act as a guide, coach, and mentor for Technology Services staff, prioritizing their development and growth through clear expectations, hands‑on coaching, and opportunities to build mastery in ITSM processes and leadership behaviors.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 15 or more years of experience in IT and business/industry.
  • 5 to 7 years of leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience managing cross‑functional teams or projects and influencing senior‑level management and key stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership capability, executing as appropriate in the areas of responsibility.
  • Expertise in budget planning, financial management, and workforce management.
  • Strategic planning and advanced leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of current and developing strategic information requirements of a major research university (or similar environment).
  • Ability to improve operational efficiency, service delivery, and information management across the IT organization.
  • Broad knowledge of current and emerging technologies, technology directions, and strategic application to business needs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to explain technology solutions in business terms, establish rapport, and persuade others.
  • Ability to develop requests for and evaluate proposals in reference to leading‑edge information services technology.
  • Ability to provide strategic guidance and counsel to internal customers in the assessment and development of existing and/or proposed systems.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Experience implementing cross‑functional process improvements with aptitude for business or process design.
  • Experience driving organizational change through facilitation and consensus building.
