Job Summary

Fighters Software Engineering Manager (Level K) – Software Organization located in Daytona Beach, FL. The role focuses on supporting Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business by leading a team that develops real‑time embedded software for a Fighters Platform in an agile, collaborative environment. The position is 100% onsite at the Daytona Beach location. Applications will be accepted until Jul. 23, 2026

Position Responsibilities
  • Develop and carry out project and process plans, implement policies and procedures, and set operational goals.
  • Acquire resources for projects, provide technical management of suppliers, and lead process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and team members.
  • Provide guidance and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Hire, manage, develop, and motivate employees in the Software Engineering area.
  • Manage employees performing engineering and technical activities in Software Engineering.
  • Manage within the Scaled Agile Framework environment (SAFe).
  • Coordinate across teams within the Agile Release Train (ART) and across other ARTs on the Solution Train.
  • Manage and coordinate work across unclassified and collateral secret areas to ensure full solutions for the warfighter.
  • Fulfill Cost Account Manager (CAM) duties for Earned Value Management (EVM) tracking.
  • Present software status to Boeing Program Management and Navy customers, and support management of program contracts.
Basic Qualifications
  • Ability to obtain Secret U.S. Security clearance (post‑start).
  • At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temporary manager, large‑scale cross‑functional project/program manager, or formal manager) or completion of Boeing’s internal course "Exploring Leadership".
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • Three or more years of leadership experience.
  • Experience working on Mission Systems products.
  • Experience leading software teams.
  • Working knowledge of SAFe.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management.
Travel

Some travel may be required, up to 10%.

Pay & Benefits

Competitive base pay and variable compensation opportunities. Eligible employees receive a variety of benefit programs, including health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance, and paid/unpaid time off. Pay is based on candidate experience, qualifications, market and business considerations. Summary pay range: $149,600 - $202,400.

Export Control Requirements

The position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. A U.S. Person, as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.62, includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Relocation

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Security Clearance

The role requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; a U.S. secret clearance is required post‑start.

Visa Sponsorship
