Job Title:
Business Development Manager/Director – Infrared Sensing
Location:
Daytona Beach, FL (hybrid) or remote (US) with travel as needed
Reports to:
VP of Sales
Own revenue growth by driving new OEM design-ins and expanding key accounts for Eltec’spyroelectric IR detectorsand
IR thermal telescopesacross gas monitoring, flame detection, perimeter security, rail/industrial monitoring, and adjacent markets.
- Build and execute a target-account plan (OEMs, primes/integrators, and industrial sensor companies).
- Develop multi-threaded relationships (engineering, supply chain, product management, quality).
- Translate customer requirements into product recommendations (detector/telescope selection, output needs, environmental constraints).
- Coordinate internal technical support.
- Create quote strategy: pricing corridors, volume breaks, and multi-year supply assumptions.
- Negotiate supply agreements, and forecast visibility.
- Partner with operations/quality to align lead times, reliability, and customer requirements.
- Identify 2–3 “repeatable plays” (e.g., for gas/flame OEM platforms; telescope play for perimeter integrators).
- Build channel capability where helpful (reps/distributors) and enable them with tools and training.
- 3 –10+ years in B2B business development / technical sales in sensors/Infrared Products.
- Demonstrated success selling into OEM engineering organizations.
- Comfortable with electro-optical sensor concepts (filters, analog front ends, noise bandwidth) and able to speak credibly with engineers.
- Strong commercial skills: pricing, negotiation, and program management.
- CRM discipline (pipeline hygiene, forecasting, activity-to-outcome tracking).
- Willingness to travel (typ. 25–40%).
Experience in gas detection, flame detection, perimeter security systems, or rail monitoring markets.
- Familiarity with government/defense procurement environments (where applicable) given the telescope positioning.
- Mix of customer-facing travel, virtual technical reviews, and onsite coordination with manufacturing/engineering.
- Must be able to handle export/customer compliance requirements as applicable (role may involve controlled customer programs).
