Position Overview
The Part Marking Technician is responsible for creating CEL sheets that will be referenced during the manufacturing process for engraving and labeling.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Review shop orders and customer documents to determine if a CEL needs to be created.
- Examine updated Customer Purchase Orders, BOMs and Tagging Schedules to identify revisions required for existing CEL sheets.
- Conduct a thorough review of product drawings, incoming POs, BOMs and Tagging Schedules to obtain customer‑specific engraving and labeling information.
- Notify the project manager or engineer of any discrepancies found during the review to prevent delays.
- Create accurate CEL sheets according to product drawings and customer documents.
- Attach the CEL sheet to the shop order in the ERP system.
- Revise CEL sheets as required for changes driven by errors or updates to customer documentation.
- Follow established guidelines for creating and revising CEL sheets to avoid delays or inaccurate information.
High School Diploma or GED. 0–2 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment. Exposure to mechanical engineering drawings is a plus.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Work with changing demands in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills with internal and external customers.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to decipher customer requirements, engineering drawings, and input from manufacturing/quality technicians.
- Working knowledge of CAD systems (AutoCAD and Solid Works).
