Position SummaryThe Entry‑Level CNC Operator assists in setting up and operating CNC machines to produce precision parts in accordance with specifications. This role is designed for individuals with basic CNC knowledge or recent graduates from technical programs, providing hands‑on experience under supervision. For the right candidate, this can evolve into a career, not just a job.
Requirements- Machine Operation:
- Load raw materials and monitor CNC machine operations.
- Follow established programs and instructions to ensure accurate machining.
- Basic Setup & Adjustments:
- Assist with machine setup and tool changes under guidance.
- Verify part dimensions using basic measuring tools (calipers, micrometers).
- Quality Assurance:
- Inspect parts for defects and report discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate production records.
- Safety & Maintenance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean work area.
- Perform basic machine cleaning and report any maintenance needs.
- Ability to read blueprints, process documentation, and use inspection measuring devices.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
- 1-3 years of demonstrated ability to set up and operate CNC Lathes, conventional lathes, and various hand tools as required in a machine shop environment.
- Ability to identify and correct production machining issues.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical components, fumes, and airborne particles.
- Lift to 50 lbs, with assistance.
- Loud noise levels and climate‑controlled.
- Use of PPE is required.
