**** Summary
* * The primary responsibility of the Machine Operator is to operate machinery in the fabrication shop and to ensure all equipment is maintained and serviced according to established protocols.
** Essential Functions
*** Ensure all equipment is maintained and serviced according to established protocols
* Operate, maintain, and demonstrate mastery of one or more machines; cross-trained on multiple machines as applicable
* Inspect slabs for defects and ensure cuts are accurate
* Polish and cut stone and edges to specifications
* Apply increasing knowledge of materials and stone characteristics to ensure quality output
* Perform machine operations and maintenance with a high level of accuracy and efficiency
* Support workflow and production schedules as required
* Provide guidance or mentoring to other operators as applicable
* Perform other duties as assigned
** Skills & Competencies
*** High school diploma or general education diploma (GED); technical degree preferred
* 1+ years of experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment, with increasing responsibility over time
* Experience running machines in a manufacturing environment
* Basic to advanced mechanical skills related to equipment maintenance
* Ability to drive production according to a set schedule
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Cross-functional expertise on multiple pieces of equipment
* Strong attention to detail and quality standards
* Ability to identify stone characteristics and material defects with accuracy
* Exhibits leadership and mentoring skills as experience increases
** Physical Requirements
*** Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend and stoop for 8+ hours.
* Ability to lift 50+ lbs
