Position SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Process Engineer with at least 5 years of experience in Solid Works CAD, CAMWorks CAM, Mastercam, and CNC programming
. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in 3+2, 4, & 5-axis milling, and 7 & 8-axis lathe turning, and will play a key role in quoting, Lean Manufacturing, process design, first-piece setup of new products, and problem‑solving within our production environment.
- Develop, validate, and optimize CNC programs for 3+2, 4, & 5-axis milling, and 7 & 8-axis lathe turning equipment using industry-standard software, preferably CAMWorks software or Mastercam.
- Create detailed machining processes, tool paths, and cutting strategies tailored for aerospace alloys (e.g., Exotics, stainless steel, aluminum) and tight tolerances of ±0.0002 / ±0.005.
- Establish machining parameters, feeds/speeds, work holding setups, and tooling selections using best‑practice principles.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, including setup sheets, fixture drawings, and work instructions.
- Design or specify custom fixtures, tooling, and work holding to support complex aerospace geometries.
- Collaborate with Quality to resolve non‑conformances and drive root‑cause analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone, 8D).
- Support machinists during setups, first‑article inspections, and program prove‑outs.
- 3-5+ years of experience in CNC Programming or manufacturing Engineering.
- Proficiency in Solid Works CAD and G-code programming, CAMWorks.
- Hands‑on experience with 3+2, 4, & 5-axis milling, and 7 & 8-axis lathe turning. Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and fixture design.
- Experience with quoting, estimating, and process optimization.
- Familiarity with automation technologies and process improvement tools.
- Take the project from cradle to grave and pass it off to the Production Team.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools (EPICOR).
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, coolants, fumes, and chemical irritants.
- Loud noise levels and varying temperatures.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. occasionally with assistance.
- Use of PPE is required per OSHA standards.
