The Florida Department of Veterans' Affairs is seeking motivated, dynamic individuals for the position of Senior Licensed Practical Nurse at Emory L. Bennett Memorial State Veterans' Nursing Home in Daytona Beach, Volusia County. This position offers an annual salary of $50,960.78 and is paid bi-weekly. Multiple shifts are available, and the position is overtime eligible.

The FDVA Nursing State Veterans' Nursing Homes and Domiciliary are designated employment sites for the Nursing Student Loan Forgiveness Program. From funds available, the program may make nursing education loan repayments of up to $4,000.00 per year, per nurse enrolled in the program, for a maximum of four years.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Willing and able to work weekends and holidays as required
- Licensure as a Practical Nurse
- One (1) year of experience in providing practical nursing services
- Current CPR certification
- Knowledgeable in the use of computer applications to include but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook
- Successful completion of the employment screening process to include, but not limited to, a national background investigation and drug test
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in medication administration in a skilled nursing facility
- One (1) year of experience in a long-term care facility working with a geriatric population
Position
Description:
The incumbent is responsible for providing quality care for veteran residents to ensure their health, safety, and security in accordance with the established agency Standard Operating Procedures and Nurse Practice Act. Perform assigned duties to include but are not limited to administration of medications and treatments per MD order, monitoring and providing interventions to meet the needs of the resident, completing accurate clinical documentation reflective of resident's current status, and supervising CNA and other supportive care givers.
This position is in the Career Service system.
