** The Opportunity
** Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking an
** Irrigation Specialist
** to join the Facilities Management team at our Daytona Beach Campus. This position plays a critical role in maintaining and improving the University's irrigation systems to ensure the health and appearance of campus landscapes. The Irrigation Specialist is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of irrigation systems, including low-voltage controls, hydraulic components, and related equipment. This position also supports water conservation efforts while helping maintain a safe and attractive campus environment.
** Key Responsibilities
*** Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair campus irrigation systems, including low-voltage controllers, valves, piping, and hydraulic components.
* Schedule and perform irrigation operations to ensure proper watering of landscaped areas while minimizing water waste and preventing damage to University property.
* Modify and expand existing irrigation systems and maintain accurate as-built drawings and system documentation.
* Diagnose irrigation system issues and recommend and implement effective repairs and improvements.
* Install and maintain pressure relief valves and other system components to ensure safe and efficient operation.
* Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on irrigation equipment and systems.
* Respond to emergency irrigation repairs and assist during severe weather or campus emergency operations as needed.
* Maintain a safe work environment and perform other related duties as assigned.
