Required Qualifications /CertificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or G.E.D., formal related vocational training preferred
- Minimum three (3) years experience in one or a combination of the following trades:
Carpentry or Cabinetry - Commercial, institutional, or residential remodeling and construction experience preferred
- Must be available after working hours (on-call) as a part of the emergency and disaster team
- Must be available for scheduled shift work
- Must be able to attend and complete various on‑the‑job training sessions
- Provide personal hand tools in accordance with established department list
- Possess a valid Florida Driver’s License; if a holder of any other valid US state‑issued Driver’s License, agree to acquire a Florida Driver’s License within thirty (30) days of employment, except in a case where accommodation is required
- Must be able to operate school board vehicles, when assigned, in accordance with operational procedures and School Board Policy 505
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Knowledge of current technology, systems, and applications as it pertains to the related field
- Knowledge of Volusia County area or ability to navigate and/or follow maps and directions
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team
- Ability to work productively with little or no supervision
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability to work flexible hours and shifts
- Ability to participate in all types of emergency/ disaster clean-up
- Ability to report to assigned work locations
- Desire to learn additional tasks through supervised maintenance job training

Salary Info$18.16 to $22.13 per hour
