Responsibilities
Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites.
- Operate hand and power tools including air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and other instruments.
- Clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support excavation sides, erect scaffolding, and clean up rubble, debris, and other waste materials.
- Demonstrate tasks to other employees as needed; the position does not include supervision of other workers.
- Assist other craft workers when requested.
Must lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Saturday and Sunday work may be required when necessary.
Foreign and domestic workers must undergo pre‑employment and post‑hire drug testing and employment eligibility (E‑Verify) checks.
Requires at least three months of previous construction experience.
Compensation and HoursEmployer guarantees at least three‑quarters of the workdays in each 12‑week period of the contract, beginning on the worker’s first day and ending on the contract end date or its extension. Hours worked can include all hours worked and any offered hours not taken, up to the maximum daily hours on the job order.
Pay is calculated on a weekly basis. Workers are paid by check on Friday. The standard work schedule is from 7:00 AM until 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Employer may offer up to 45 hours per week and could offer more depending on weather, business needs, and other conditions.
Benefits and ReimbursementsEmployer pays in advance or reimburses all government‑mandated and visa‑related fees (excluding passport fees) within the first workweek.
For non‑local workers, inbound travel costs are reimbursed at the 50% point of the contract (unless paid in advance). These costs include transportation from the worker’s permanent residence or place of recruitment, a daily meal subsistence (minimum $16.78 per day or $68.00 with receipts; lodging up to $110.00 per day), and reasonable lodging costs when applicable. Travel reimbursements are based on least‑cost common carrier rates.
Outbound travel costs are paid upon completion of the contract period or early dismissal, except where the worker has subsequent employment.
Employer provides all tools, supplies, and equipment (including uniforms, if applicable) necessary to perform duties.
Employer offers free daily transportation to/from the worksite from a designated pick‑up location; use of this transportation is voluntary.
