Position Overview
The Mobile Operating Engineer is a hands‑on technical role responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing building mechanical systems across multiple client properties. This position requires travel between assigned facilities to ensure optimal performance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other building systems.
Key Responsibilities- System Operations & Maintenance:
Operates and maintains heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems, performs preventive maintenance on boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, pumps, and motors, monitors building automation systems, and energy management systems. - Troubleshooting & Repairs:
Diagnoses equipment malfunctions and performs repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems; responds to emergency calls, coordinates with property management and tenants, and escalates to contractors as needed. - Compliance & Safety:
Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, maintains accurate logs in computerized maintenance management systems, follows safety protocols including lockout/tagout, and uses personal protective equipment. - Multi‑Site Coordination:
Travels between assigned properties, manages work orders across locations, maintains tools and supplies in service vehicle, and communicates status updates to facility managers and clients.
- Education & Certification:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training in building systems, HVAC, or related fields strongly preferred. Valid stationary or universal engineer’s license appropriate to the jurisdiction. Additional certifications such as EPA Universal Refrigerant Handling, boiler operator’s license, or electrical certifications may be required. - Experience:
3‑5 years in building maintenance, facilities operations, or related technical field; experience with commercial building systems, building automation systems, and computerized maintenance management software. - Skills &
Competencies:
Mechanical aptitude, blueprint and schematic interpretation, communication skills, physical capability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and operate in various weather conditions; valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
Regular travel to multiple client sites, works in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and indoor/outdoor environments; may require on‑call availability for emergencies including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical demands: standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50+ pounds, working at heights or in confined spaces.
Reporting StructureReports to Regional Facilities Manager or Service Operations Supervisor.

Remote - Daytona Beach, FL, Jacksonville, FL.
USD 67,000.00 – 97,000.00 per year.
Work Shift1st shift with on‑call rotation responsibilities.
