Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Building Maintenance, Electrician/ Electrician Installation
The County of Volusia is seeking a Senior Trades Worker for the Daytona Beach International Airport located in Daytona Beach, Florida. This position is responsible for skilled journeyman level work including general construction and maintenance that requires little or no supervision.

- Maintenance and repair of airfield lighting, signage, and navigational aids per FAA 139
- Perform all levels of electrical repair, replacement, renovations, and new work to include lighting, switches, receptacles, panels, motors, variable speed drives, various types of conduits, etc.
- Maintenance and repair of conveyor systems and passenger boarding bridges.
- Low voltage data cable and fiber optic cable installation and troubleshooting.
- Security system equipment installation and repair.
- May perform all levels of plumbing repair, replacement, renovation, and new work to include fixtures, fittings, lines, lift stations, etc.
- May perform all levels of carpentry repair, replacement, renovations, and new work to include framing, paneling, ceilings, doors, windows, etc.
- May perform all levels of masonry repair, replacement, renovations, and new work to include vertical structures, sidewalks, driveways, drainage structures, etc.
- May perform welding and small engine repair.
- May perform all levels of painting applications, preparation of surfaces, scaffolding, etc.
- May perform all levels of air conditioning equipment trouble shooting, repair, replacement of components, cyclic preventive maintenance, etc.
- May supervise small crews in assignments of basic construction and/or maintenance work.
- May perform work found in the lower-level trades worker classifications.
- Responds to emergency situations.
- Performs other duties as assigned
High School Diploma or possession of GED and (4) years of progressively responsible experience in maintenance and repair of electrical work.
Journeyman level experience in one or more of the skilled trades, (e., electrical).
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license.
CDL (level to be determined by division) may be required depending on position assignment.
Pass a fingerprint based criminal background check and drug test.
Meet TSA badging requirements for working in the sterile areas of an airport, pass and maintain certifications as airfield vehicle ground operator per FAA 139.
The preferred candidate having met the minimum requirements will possess Four (4) years experience with maintenance troubleshooting and repair of equipment associated with plant maintenance as well as, four (4) years experience with maintenance and repair of airport specialized equipment (passenger boarding bridges, conveyor systems, airfield lighting systems).

- Skilled in performing advanced, complex work at the journeyman level in the electrical trade.
- Skilled in laying out jobs with cost and material estimates.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions.
- Ability to interact effectively with others.
- Ability to work from maps, blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
- Ability to perform work from oral and written instructions and perform shop math.
- Ability to operate a computer (e.g., sending emails, using Microsoft Word and Excel).
- Ability to learn how to input data and closeout assigned work orders in the County asset management system (Lucity).
