UAS Software Engineer, UAS Technologies

Central UAS Technologies is an industry pioneer developing software for Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) used in agriculture, forestry, mosquito control, and related fields. We are seeking a Software Engineer with prior robotics or UAS experience to join our growing team. The role involves building, maintaining, and deploying ground‑control‑station (GCS) software and contributing to firmware solutions for current and future product lines.

Familiarity with integrating backend APIs, mapping services, and embedded systems is desired.

Work is performed on‑site at our Daytona Beach, FL facilities. Remote work is not considered for this position; occasional work‑from‑home may be possible.

• Build and maintain GCS apps and companion utilities on the Qt stack using C++ and QML, Android JNI, ADB, and related tooling.
• Contribute to firmware development and sensor integration (e.g., Mavlink).
• Build and maintain features, improvements, and software architectures that support native applications.
• Develop professional user experiences.

• Exposure to open‑source UAV software systems (e.g., PX4, Ardupilot, Dronecode, Mission Planner, QGround
  
  Control).
• Experience with one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Lua).
• Clear examples of projects/products/labs where you were a key contributor.
• The ability to work independently and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

• B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical degree.
• Demonstrable experience and skill in C++ development (2+ years).
• Knowledge of Qt/QML framework and GUI development.

• Regular standing, sitting, walking, occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs.), and handling of large, medium, and small components.
• Work in a low‑volume, indoor, temperature‑controlled manufacturing/assembly setting.
• Frequent use of a computer and UAS equipment.
• Strong teamwork skills through collaborative problem solving.
