The Boeing Company’s Defense, Space & Security (BDS) division seeks an experienced or senior Mission Systems Software Developer to design, develop, and support avionics and flight simulation solutions for fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, satellites, and human spaceflight programs.

• Support software development on agile teams tasked with integrating solutions onto a platform.
• Develop high fidelity simulation and environment software and tool sets to enable rapid development, testing, and deployment.
• Use analytical problem‑solving skills to resolve problems for the company and suppliers.
• Apply engineering knowledge to deliver improved weapon system capabilities to customers.
• Continuous improvement of processes and tools through engineering skills.
• Document engineering practices for replication, scaling, and continuous improvement.
• Work across program stakeholders and subject matter experts in Operational Analysis, Software Engineering, Mission Systems Hardware, Flight Simulation, etc.
• Provide technical leadership over supporting junior engineers.

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience with Ada, C, C++, C#, Java, or Python.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a project employing various software development methodologies.
• U.S. security clearance currently held or held in the past 24 months (U.S. Person required).
• Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate with stakeholders of different backgrounds.
• Experience developing embedded real‑time software, models/simulation, and Operational Flight Program (OFP) software for an aircraft platform.
• Experience with Real‑time Operating Systems (RTOS).
• Experience with object‑oriented analysis and design (OOAD) methodologies.
• Experience with Agile software development.
• Experience with open‑architecture constructs such as Open Mission Systems (OMS), Open Communication Standard (OCS), and the Universal Command and Control Interface (UCI).
• Experience developing and documenting software architecture using Cameo or similar Model‑Based Systems Engineering tools.
• Experience with configuration management and collaboration tools such as Git, JIRA, Collaborator, Beyond Compare, and Version One.
• Leadership experience in a technical team or project.

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical degree.
• 5+ years of higher education and/or related work experience.
• Experience with real‑time operating systems and embedded software.

• Pay range for Experienced Engineer:  118,150 -  159,850.
• Pay range for Senior Engineer:  149,600 -  202,400.
