Overview

The purpose of this classification, under supervision of the Manager‑Golf course, is to provide administration and coordination of all golf operations including the POS system, golf lessons, programs, leagues and tournaments in a safe and enjoyable environment for the City of Daytona Beach. Employee in this classification organizes, schedules and develops golf programs for groups, individuals, leagues and special events. Performs related work as required.

High School diploma or GED and certification of PGA Membership, supplemented by at least five (5) years previous experience in proshop and golf operations that demonstrates ability to manage golf programs and lessons, and account for monies received: or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

• The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
• Operates the POS system and daily requirements in the golf shop.
• Prepares variety of reports as needed by Manager‑Golf Course, pertaining to golf lessons and programs.
• Actively develops programs to attract and retain users of the facility.
• Assists in marketing efforts. Conducts, plans, and promotes adult and junior golf lessons.
• Organizes and manages tournaments and adult and junior leagues.
• Maintains pro status by attending workshops, conventions and obtaining ranking.
• Greets and provides information to guests and newcomers.
• Assists in the supervision and scheduling of staff as directed by the golf course manager.
• Assists in the structure and execution of golf tournaments hosted by the golf course.
• Performs research projects for Manager‑Golf Course as directed.
• Coordinates play for locals and visitors.
• Coordinates with City/private contractors to perform major tasks.
• Arrange for rental and/or maintenance of equipment and set‑ups for special events.
