Title:

Bus Driver

• Possession of a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the vehicle(s) operated.
• Must meet all State and Federal pre‑employment requirements of the position prior to employment including the appropriate driver's license for the vehicle being operated.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience working with Pre‑K‑12th grade students.

• Drive a school bus on a regular schedule on an assigned route or on special occasions.
• Assist disabled students in boarding and exiting bus by operating a hydraulic lift as necessary.
• Check the operating condition of a school bus before starting a regular or special trip.
• Report any mechanical defects of bus to the supervisor.
• Instruct or inform students about safety practices when entering and exiting bus and while in transit.
• Maintain orderly conduct of students on the bus.
• CLEAN and service assigned vehicle daily.
• Perform a post‑trip inspection of the vehicle after every route.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

All new employees must be fingerprinted and cleared for employment through the NYSED before employment begins.
