International Motor Sports Association (IMSA)

IMSA is the sanctioning body of the IMSA Weather Tech Sports Car Championship and several other racing series. The organization partners with the Automobile Club de l'Ouest to provide opportunities for IMSA competitors to participate in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Job Title: Part‑Time, Transport Driver
Department: Logistics
FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt

Responsibilities
  • Drive the IMSA transporter (and trailer) on interstate routes to and from events, maintaining all DOT requirements.
  • Load and unload truck and trailer, set up and break down awnings, technical equipment, and other gear as required.
  • SCHEDULE and perform minor maintenance of truck and trailer.
  • Support weekend officials by maintaining equipment and supplies, and staff any IMSA trailers.
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness, restock, and overall upkeep.
  • Prepare truck logs, complete timecards, and fuel reports after every trip.
  • Assist with additional tasks to support other departments during events.
  • Operate forklifts and related equipment when required.
  • Work periodically at the IMSA transportation hub on off‑event days.
  • Present a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Travel approximately 80% of the time, including weekends.
Qualifications
  • One (1) year certificate from college or technical school and/or five (5) years of truck driving and at‑race track service experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class A, and IMSA License required.
  • Minimum one (1) year of forklift operation experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) for DOT compliance.
  • Strong reading, writing, and communication skills; ability to interpret technical documents and regulations.
  • Basic mathematical skills for calculations such as percentages and volumes.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, lift (up to 75 pounds), stoop, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
  • Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements.
  • Capacity to work under fast‑paced conditions and make decisions independently.
Physical Demands

Regular standing and walking for about 10 hours per day; lifting and moving items that may weigh over 75 pounds; occasional climbing, balancing, and sensory tasks; visual acuity required for close, distant, color, peripheral, depth perception and focus adjustment.
