The Senior Accountant will support day-to-day corporate accounting operations, with a focus on accurate financial reporting and timely month-end close. This role partners across functions and contributes to audit, budgeting, and reporting activities. The position also plays an important role in strengthening accounting processes, internal controls, and scalability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Manage assigned general ledger accounts, including journal entries, monthly reconciliations, variance analysis, and maintenance of complete and well-supported documentation.
- Perform monthly income statement and balance sheet reviews; identify discrepancies and prepare adjusting entries as needed.
- Support the preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements for internal reporting.
- Maintain the fixed asset ledger, including capitalizations, disposals, transfers, depreciation, and compliance with capitalization policies.
- Prepare audit and budgeting work papers for internal and external use.
- Manage monthly accruals to ensure accurate period cutoff.
- Maintain prepaid expense schedules, ensuring proper amortization, documentation, and policy adherence.
- Support daily banking activities and cash management processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align accounting processes and improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and standardization to support scalability.
- Assist with documentation of accounting procedures and internal control enhancements.
- Support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred.
- Minimum of four years of progressive accounting experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Hands-on experience working with accounting systems, ERP platforms, and advanced Microsoft Excel functionality.
- Background supporting audit and budgeting processes with a high level of accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data, identify variances, and support cross‑departmental reporting needs.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Experience with business intelligence or analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Alteryx) is a plus.
