The Controller oversees all employees involved in the controlling and accounting processes and is responsible for managing accounting records. This position will be located at our BTG, IPI facility in De Pere, Wisconsin.

Responsibilities
  • Redesign and maintain the standard costing model in accordance with group reporting policy (work centers, cost centers, routings, hourly rates, overhead allocation).
  • Develop and implement manufacturing variances analysis. Analyze and explain manufacturing variances (labor, machine efficiency, material usage, overhead absorption).
  • Monitor actual vs. planned factory performance and drive improvement actions with operations.
  • Manage factory targets, ensuring accuracy and transparency of direct and overhead costs.
  • Track productivity, labor efficiency, scrap, rework, and other cost drivers.
  • Support continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Develop clear KPIs and dashboards to monitor factory performance (productivity, cost, lead time, efficiency, inventory turns).
  • Lead monthly performance reviews with factory and regional leadership.
  • Continuously improve stock accuracy and inventory controls (cycle counting, data accuracy, system discipline).
  • Analyze slow-moving and obsolete inventory and drive mitigation actions.
  • Support supply chain in defining optimal stock levels and working capital targets.
  • Work closely with procurement to identify supplier cost opportunities and track purchase price variances.
  • Support make-or-buy decisions, costing scenarios, and supplier negotiations.
  • Evaluate cost-efficiency vs. volume strategies and support sourcing decisions.
  • Lead capex budgeting and approval process, monitor spending, and review investment ROI.
  • Maintain and prioritize the capex pipeline with operations.
  • Build strong partnership with factory management and regional sales team.
  • Provide proactive financial insights and challenge assumptions to support decision-making.
  • Promote a culture of cost discipline and data-driven decisions.
  • Regional support and analysis for America’s Sales and Support Team. Including, Financial Plan, Sales, Orders, accruals, expenses, and regional profitability.
  • Organize the activities of the accounting team.
  • General ledger responsibility for US and Canadian units.
  • Support local, state and federal tax compliance.
  • Strengthen ERP and costing data integrity.
  • Improve reporting systems, implement automation and digital dashboards.
  • Drive continuous improvement and support transformation projects with external experts.
  • Complete monthly closing process with a strict time frame
  • Fill monthly reporting KPIs for group finance head office
  • Explain monthly result (Actual vs Plan)
  • Support planning process for the business unit
  • Prepare for internal and external audits
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, solve, and respond to internal and external inquiries
  • Work towards continuous improvements of practices and procedures
  • Possible travels to other locations as necessary
  • Responsible for own personal safety, the safety of the team and those around you.
  • Work in accordance with and enforce compliance with all BTG policies (ex: Safety, Code of Conduct, Commercial Policy, Security Policy and Export Compliance) to maintain BTG reputation and image.
Required Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid cost accounting skills and understanding of factory flows.
  • Ability to challenge status quo, drive change, and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills and business partnering mindset.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, BOMs, routings, cost centers, and work centers.
  • Advanced Excel/Power BI skills; data-driven approach.
  • SAP knowledge and experience
  • Hands-on, pragmatic, and autonomous.
  • Curious, proactive, and improvement oriented.
  • High integrity and resilient in challenging situations.
Required Education/Experience
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, controlling, accounting or related field.
  • 5+ years in industrial controlling/plant controlling/accounting in a manufacturing environment (preferably assembly-type operations).
  • Experience implementing or redesigning standard costing and manufacturing controlling processes.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing / continuous improvement environments (preferred).
