The Financial Controller will manage daily general ledger operations and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting. This role is central to month-end and year-end close activities, budgeting, audit coordination, and internal controls. The Controller will also support accounting team development, drive process and system improvements, and work closely with senior leadership—including the Director of Finance and CFO—as well as cross-functional partners to enhance efficiency and ERP utilization.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee general ledger activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and month- and quarter-end close.
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements, including cash, prepaids, accruals, fixed assets, expense accounts, and capital assets.
- Prepare and review audit work papers and support annual audit and year-end processes.
- Assist with the annual budgeting process and documentation supporting tax filings.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and maintain accurate, well-controlled accounting records.
- Manage and develop the general accounting team, including performance oversight and technical guidance.
- Partner with the Director of Finance and CFO on corporate reporting and finance initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve process flows and optimize ERP usage.
- Develop and manage cash flow projections to support liquidity and financial planning.
- Maintain internal controls and oversee capital asset accounting.
- Identify and implement process and system improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA required.
- Public accounting and audit experience preferred.
- 8–10 years of progressive accounting experience; manufacturing environment preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience managing or leading accounting professionals.
- Experience working with ERP and financial reporting systems.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage close processes, audits, and multiple deadlines.
- Proven experience supporting budgeting, cash flow management, and internal controls.
