Network Sales Specialist

The Network Sales Specialist is a key member of our Wholesale Team, responsible for maximizing revenue and utilization of Paper Transport's available asset capacity in the spot market.

You’ll spend your day monitoring the spot market, negotiating with brokers, filling empty miles, and coordinating with internal teams to keep our trucks moving efficiently and profitably. Success in this role requires strong communication, sound judgment, market awareness, and the ability to move quickly in a constantly changing environment.

• Monitor current spot-market conditions and identify profitable freight opportunities.
• Work closely with Operations to understand daily truck availability, network needs, and empty capacity.
• Source, negotiate, and secure spot-market freight with brokers.
• Evaluate available loads based on rate, mileage, location, timing, and overall network profitability.
• Track broker loads from initial booking through completion.
• Identify and secure efficient backhaul opportunities to reduce empty miles and maximize asset utilization.
• Maintain clear and timely communication with Operations, drivers, brokers, and other internal and external partners.
• Collect, document, and manage broker accessorial charges to ensure accurate billing.
• Ensure loads are properly documented and communicated to the appropriate internal teams.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with brokers and transportation partners.
• Make informed decisions that support company profitability and network performance.
• Adapt quickly to changing market conditions, truck availability, and customer needs.
• Consistently meet or exceed established profitability and productivity goals.

• One year of transportation, brokerage, logistics, dispatch, or related experience preferred.
• Experience with spot-market freight, load boards, brokerage, or carrier operations is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
