1st Shift: Monday--Thursday: 5:30am -- 3:00pm & Friday: 5:30am -- Noon
Job Summary: The Production Lead serves as a lead resource within the department, supporting daily workflow, coordination, training, and operational execution. This role helps ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards while providing day-to-day guidance and support to team members. The Production Lead supports production goals, workflow organization, and process consistency.
Essential Functions:
Workflow Coordination & Production Support
- Coordinate daily workflow, scheduling activities, and work priorities to support production schedules and department objectives.
- Monitor material readiness, information, and resource availability to support efficient operations and production schedules.
- Monitor workflow and communicate production issues, bottlenecks, or concerns to leadership.
Training & Team Support
- Provide day-to-day guidance and support to team members.
- Assist with onboarding and training employees on department processes, procedures, and work standards.
- Serve as a resource for operational questions and troubleshooting.
- Promote consistency in work methods, quality expectations, and safety practices.
Quality & Process Improvement
- Support adherence to quality standards and department procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflow, efficiency, and process consistency.
- Assist with implementing process improvements and best practices.
- Help maintain accurate and consistent work practices across the department.
- Review work requirements and identify potential issues, concerns, or resource needs before they impact production.
Safety & Organization
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Communicate effectively with leadership and team members regarding workflow, priorities, and operational needs.
- Serve as a department resource and point of contact for operational questions, workflow coordination, and production-related issues.
- Collaborate with other departments to support efficient workflow and production objectives.
- Assist leadership in identifying training needs, workflow challenges, and operational improvement opportunities.
Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of manufacturing, production, woodworking, cabinetmaking, or related operational processes.
- Ability to learn and understand department processes, equipment, products, and workflow.
- Strong craftsmanship skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to coordinate work and support team productivity.
- Ability to train, coach, and assist employees in daily work activities.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
