If you are a proven manufacturing leader looking for unmatched career stability, elite compensation, and top-tier benefits, this direct-hire leadership role offers an incredible long-term home. The employer is a multi-billion dollar, privately held packaging manufacturer operating with exceptional organizational stability. Having recently completed a $100M facility expansion with further growth underway, this modern site represents a deep commitment to its Wisconsin operations.

Managing a dedicated shift of 25 to 30 hourly employees within a high-speed coating department, you will bridge the gap between daily throughput targets and continuous improvement goals. The organization is renowned for treating its leaders exceptionally well—offering a compensation and benefits package virtually unmatched in the Midwest, a structured rotating schedule that gives you 6 consecutive days off every three weeks, and an environment where average professional tenures are measured in decades.

What you will be doing (daily responsibilities):

  • Provide daily shift floor leadership, mentoring, and operational direction for 25–30 hourly employees within a high-speed, unionized production environment.
  • Oversee shift production execution, ensuring rigorous adherence to product quality standards, departmental safety protocols, and daily throughput metrics.
  • Partner closely with Maintenance and Engineering teams to maximize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and coordinate work orders.
  • Manage workforce allocations, directing daily job assignments, tracking attendance, and executing cross-training initiatives to build shop-floor flexibility.
  • Serve as a quality and technical liaison, tracking in-process quality logs and executing corrective action plans alongside technical teams.
  • Maintain digital metrics, utilizing local ERP systems for real-time production tracking, material tracking, and operational reporting.
  • Drive shop-floor Lean/5S initiatives to continuously improve safety protocols, boost OEE, and eliminate material waste.

What we are looking for (requirements & qualifications):

  • 5 to 10 years of supervisory experience in fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing (experience in web handling, paper, coating, converting, or pressure-sensitive films is a strong plus).
  • Union labor relations competency:
Demonstrated experience managing in a union environment, administering contracts fairly, and resolving workplace issues with professional diplomacy.
  • Schedule readiness:
Full willingness to work a rotating 12-hour schedule (alternating days/nights), including rotating weekends.
  • Technical & ERP fluency:
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and local ERP/inventory management platforms.
  • Career stability: A rock-solid, progressive employment record showing reliability and long-term commitment to past employers.
  • Local proximity:
Residing within a comfortable daily commute of the Greater Green Bay, WI area.
