Overview

Do you enjoy working hands-on with technology in the printing and packaging industry? Belmark is seeking a Web-to-Print® Lead Finishing Operator to support productivity goals in the finishing department by maximizing throughput, quality, maintenance/repair and training while minimizing downtime. We create labels, cartons, and various packaging items seen daily as consumers.

A pre-employment drug test and a background check are required if offered the position.

Schedule

2nd shift: 2:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. (midnight), Monday – Thursday

Pay

Salary: $24 – $26 per hour. The hourly rate is determined by the level of the role, relevant experience, and may incorporate shift differentials to reflect expertise and responsibilities entailed.

Shift differential: $1.00 more per hour for the 2nd shift

What will I do in this role?
  • Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a food safety culture by adhering to Safe Quality Foods requirements.
  • Perform the principle duties and responsibilities listed for the Web-to-Print® Finishing Operator.
  • Model Belmark’s principles and standards of behavior; leaders demonstrate a higher level of commitment and standards.
  • Perform finishing equipment maintenance and repairs in coordination with Shift Managers/Supervisors and Laminator/Coater Operators to resolve issues timely and lasting.
  • Assist with difficult jobs, including problem solving and determining an action plan.
  • Train and develop laminator/coater operators with a lead-by-example approach to throughput, quality, waste, standards and maintenance.
  • Ensure laminator/coater operators are trained and comply with standard operating procedures, testing protocol, critical-to-quality maintenance and calibration procedures, and safety standards.
  • Fill in or relieve finishing operators during vacations, breaks and absences; provide leadership during supervisor/manager absences.
  • Prepare job components in advance according to the daily schedule, including materials, standards and job paperwork.
  • Manage and maintain all finishing consumable supplies from order entry to storage.
  • Collaborate with Shift Managers/Supervisors on scheduling feedback with Sales and Account Services.
  • Review daily and monthly feedback reports and contribute to sustained improvement.
  • Obtain laminator and coater level operation, shared maintenance and Tier 3 certification(s) where applicable.
  • May assist in other production areas such as Graphics, Press, and Rewind; may perform other duties as assigned by Plant Manager, Production Manager or Shift Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to effectively use written and spoken English
  • Professional and friendly communication
  • Web-to-Print® production experience or equivalent production knowledge
  • Basic arithmetic skills
  • Ability to analyze information and meet deadlines; overtime and flexible hours may be required
  • Regular attendance is critical
  • Ability to stand and walk for 90% of work time; able to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl for up to 10%
  • Near/far vision requirements and color discrimination
  • Manual dexterity and ability to operate equipment; lifting up to 100 pounds may be required
  • May be required to use sense of smell
