The APP Specialty at Prevea is an Advanced Practice Nurse (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) who provides specialized healthcare services tailored to the specific department. This role operates within the scope of the specific specialty department and includes collaborating and coordinating with physicians and other health professionals regarding clinical practice, education, consultation, research, and program development.
What you will do- Provides assessment, evaluation, and management to patients, including minor, acute, chronic, and episodic illness & injuries. Includes performance of follow-up exams if required.
- Collaborates with patients to review their health background and wellness, providing counseling and education to determine physiological, emotional, and environmental needs, and advises patients and families on future health plans and illness prevention.
- Provides follow-up services including ordering appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests, prescribing pharmacological agents, and other non-pharmacological treatment modalities.
- Maintains and reviews patient records, charts, and other pertinent information, documenting all details in the electronic medical record.
- Collaborates with physicians and other providers to develop and implement patient care plans to ensure the best possible care and outcomes.
- Provides case management services to assist clients and families with arrangements for, or referrals to, needed services.
- Graduate of a master’s level nurse practitioner program OR a licensed physician assistant program. Required.
- 1–3 years of work experience in a clinical setting within a health care organization. Preferred.
- Understanding of the specialty department’s information and techniques necessary for diagnosing and treating human injuries and diseases, including symptom recognition, treatment methods, medication properties and interactions, and preventive healthcare practices.

- Individual must possess either the license/certification details of a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant. All must have CPR/Basic Life Support.
- Nurse Practitioner:
Registered nurse in the state of Wisconsin with a certification through ANCC or AANPCB, and certified in the State of Wisconsin as an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber or certification‑eligible, obtaining certification at the first opportunity. Upon hire required. - Physician Assistant:
Licensed by the state of Wisconsin as a Physician Assistant and certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant. Upon hire required. - CPR/Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification from an approved program. Upon hire required.
