Overview
Lead Trailer Technician – 2nd Shift is a working lead position for an experienced trailer mechanic who mentors technicians, coordinates workflow, and sets the standard for quality repairs. You will spend time on the shop floor performing repairs and helping lead the team to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and correctly.

Shift: Full-Time, Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Compensation: $26.50 – $35.00 per hour with a $2.00/hour shift differential. Quarterly bonuses available.
What You’ll Do- Leadership responsibilities: Lead daily operations of the 2nd shift trailer shop, assign and prioritize work orders, coach and train technicians, ensure repairs are completed safely and on schedule, promote a positive team culture and strong communication between shifts, verify repair quality and maintain productivity standards.
- Technical responsibilities: Diagnose and repair trailers, including air brake systems, suspension systems, electrical and lighting systems, ABS diagnostics and repairs, landing gear and wheel-end components, and doors/floors/roofs/structural repairs.
- Perform welding and fabrication repairs on steel and aluminum trailers.
- Complete DOT/FHWA inspections and preventive maintenance services.
- Complete repair documentation and work orders; maintain a safe and organized work environment.
Required
- 3+ years of trailer repair experience
- Strong welding and fabrication experience
- Experience performing DOT/FHWA inspections
- Knowledge of air brake, suspension, ABS, and electrical systems
- Valid driver’s license
- Personal toolbox and tools
Preferred
- Previous experience as a Lead Technician, Shop Foreman, Crew Lead, or Supervisor
- ASE Certifications
- Fleet maintenance experience
- Experience mentoring or training technicians
