Maintenance Technician

The primary purpose of the Maintenance Technician is to troubleshoot, repair and maintain all electrical and mechanical equipment in a Metal Fabrication manufacturing facility to ensure production continuity and efficiency. Duties may involve troubleshooting; pipe fitting; welding; machining; carpentry; repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment; and general building repair and maintenance.
ROLE + RESPONSIBILITIES (includes but not limited to)
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and machinery located in the manufacturing areas. This includes lasers, cranes, welders, press brakes, and forklifts.
- Troubleshoot equipment or systems operation problems.
- Helping team members with maintenance duties, performing repairs, lubing machinery as needed. This position will encompass all maintenance functions regarding machinery.
- Assisting with the installation of new equipment or relocation of machinery. This includes all aspects of preparation for the new equipment.
- Other maintenance duties as assigned include cleaning up, buildings and grounds maintenance.
- Operating scissor lift or working on ladders.
- Test mechanical equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Inspect mechanical equipment to locate damage, defects, or wear.
- Disassemble equipment for maintenance or repair.
- Operate cranes, hoists, or other moving or lifting equipment.
- Replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts.
- Read technical information needed to perform maintenance or repairs.
- Order materials, supplies, or equipment.
- Lay out work according to specifications.
- Plan work procedures.
- Record information about parts, materials, or repair procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education:
high school diploma or equivalent (GED) required, secondary school in trades preferred. - Experience:
three - five years maintenance experience. Knowledge of machine functions and processes, electrical, plumbing, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems. In addition, understanding machine drawings and schematics.
ADDITIONAL NOTES
- Working in a preventative maintenance schedule.
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills, along with keen sense of attention to detail.
- Excellent blueprint reading and interpretation skills.
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This position may be required to travel to all Robinson facilities (De Pere and Manitowoc).
