** Job Summary
** Manages Operations and Facilities maintenance activities and projects within the organization. Implements policies and procedures, develops employees, and maintains equipment to ensure optimal performance. Coordinates projects, preventative maintenance activities, and vendors to ensure projects are appropriately staffed and milestones are achieved. Develops operational and capital budgets for the converting operation.
** Essential Functions
*** Ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
* Mentor and develop employees.
* Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
* Oversee the design, development, and implementation of mechanical and electrical systems.
* Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
* Manage plant projects from concept to completion.
* Process engineering improvements through automation.
* Ensure all materials and components meet specifications.
* Ensure proper documentation of all engineering activities.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
* Conduct regular project reviews and provide status updates to senior management.
* Identify and mitigate project risks through collaborative teamwork.
* Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electrical projects and repairs.
* Manage relationships with external vendors and suppliers.
* Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers.
* Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and quality.
* Prepare and manage project budgets and annual budgets.
* Provide technical support and guidance to other departments.
* Supports WCO process programs and projects.
* Change agent for technological advances; identifies opportunities for site improvements.
* Support ERP CMMS transition for the facility.
* Participate in SQF Housekeeping and Food Safety Programs.  Provide plant housekeeping support.
* Other responsibilities and tasks as appropriate to achieve company initiatives.
** Job Qualifications
*** Required
* * Team problem solving; facilitation.
* Computer literate: MS Office, MS Project, or other project management software a plus.
* BPCS manufacturing software system knowledge desirable.
* Strong interpersonal skills: ability to communicate orally and in writing; ability to present information one on one and in group settings, at all levels of the organization, under all circumstances; diplomatic.
* Detail oriented; organized; self-starter; flexible; change agent.
* Must be able to work concurrently on multiple priorities and projects.
* Understanding of SPC and lean manufacturing principles.
* Preferred
* * 4-year degree or equivalent experience in or Engineering
* Discrete manufacturing experience in paper or paperboard food packaging along with sheet fed printing, die cutting and paper cup forming.
** Environment
* ** Spends approximately 50% of time walking and touring manufacturing areas.
* Some travel is required.
