Position: Pharmaceutical Operations Technician (Batching)

Job Summary

Position:
Manufacturing Technician – First Shift (Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm)

Location:

De Soto, Kansas (within the Kansas City metropolitan area)
Role:
Support the production of animal vaccines and biologics in a GMP‑certified manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Complete daily production activities for preparation and sterilization of equipment and media components.
  • Operate fermentation and downstream processing equipment for bacterial antigens.
  • Blend and serially batch antigens and adjuvants to create the final vaccine blend.
  • Conduct sampling procedures for serial batches and maintain accurate records.
  • Document work in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and apply basic problem‑solving skills.
  • Work independently and collaboratively to meet schedule and production targets.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate or Bachelor degree in a scientific discipline preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow manufacturing directions, SOPs, and regulatory policies.
  • Basic time‑management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Team‑oriented approach with initiative to support colleagues.
  • Proficient computer skills – MSWord and MSExcel.
Preferred Experience and Skills
  • At least 1year of pharmaceutical or 2years of manufacturing experience.
  • Understanding of aseptic processes used in manufacturing.
  • Experience with quality‑improvement tools and continuous‑improvement processes.
  • Familiarity with GMP documentation and quality‑control procedures.
  • Knowledge of cell culture technology, media preparation, and equipment maintenance.
