Machine Operator

The Machine Operator sets up, operates, monitors, and performs basic maintenance on manufacturing equipment. The role involves inspecting products for quality, troubleshooting minor machine issues, maintaining a clean work area, and ensuring production goals are met while following all safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate forming, printing, slitting, die-cutting, or folding carton machines.
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed.
  • Perform minor machine maintenance and clear equipment jams safely.
  • Load raw materials into machines.
  • Inspect products throughout the manufacturing process to ensure quality standards.
  • Report quality issues or equipment problems to supervisors.
  • Read and follow production work orders and manufacturing instructions.
  • Keep the production area clean and organized.
  • Operate material-handling equipment when required.
  • Follow all company safety, food safety, and housekeeping procedures.
  • Assist other operators and production staff as needed.
  • Work overtime or rotating 12-hour shifts when required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Manufacturing or machine operation experience is preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand for most of the work shift.
  • Lift up to 30–40 pounds regularly and heavier items occasionally.
  • Frequently bend, twist, reach, squat, and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Use hands continuously for machine operation and product inspection.
