This mid-shift Technician position is within the SUB (single-use bioreactor)-processing Department at our Animal Health facility in De Soto, Kansas. The facility is expanding to manufacture vaccines and biologics for large and companion animals, utilizing fermentation and cell culture platforms, filling, and packaging.
Responsibilities- Learn and support the manufacturing processes for large-scale production of M.Hyo antigen.
- Contribute to daily completion and schedule adherence of production activities.
- Perform fermentation activities from breakout to large-scale fermentation.
- Set up and operate SUBs and neutralization vessels.
- Execute downstream processing of the antigen using ultrafiltration methods.
- Maintain error-free execution of daily tasks.
- Complete documentation using Good Documentation Practices.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and apply basic problem‑solving skills.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a science discipline or equivalent preferred.
- Proficient oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow and comply with manufacturing directions, SOPs, and regulatory policies.
- Basic laboratory skills and effective time management.
- Team‑work and initiative to support team members.
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Word and Excel.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with cell culture techniques or protein separation.
- Familiarity with aseptic processes used in manufacturing.
- Experience with quality improvement tools and continuous improvement processes.
- Experience with single‑use bioreactors and mixers.
- Monday to Friday – Mid Shift 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM.
- Occasional weekend work required.
$48,600 – $76,600
