Overview
Senior Manufacturing Performance Strategist at Panasonic Energy, De Soto, Kansas. You will partner with Manufacturing Operations and leadership to analyze manufacturing and business performance data, drive operational excellence, and support strategic initiatives across lithium-ion battery manufacturing. You will develop and maintain reporting, dashboards, analytics tools, and performance metrics to provide actionable insights on safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Manufacturing Performance Strategist serves as a strategic partner to Manufacturing Operations and leadership teams, leveraging data from MES, ERP, quality, maintenance, and other databases to influence operational strategy and continuous improvement.
- Analyze production performance across Electrode Manufacturing, Cell Assembly, Formation, Aging, Packaging, and Material Handling to monitor throughput, OEE, yield, downtime, scrap, labor productivity, capacity utilization, inventory, delivery metrics, and cost-per-unit trends.
- Develop, maintain, and improve operational reporting, dashboards, KPI scorecards, visualizations, and executive-level performance reports to support leadership decisions, audits, and customer requirements.
- Extract, validate, and govern data to ensure accuracy and standardized reporting practices.
- Support annual operating plans, production forecasting, capacity planning, workforce planning, and capital investment analysis.
Performance Optimization & Continuous Improvement
- Identify performance gaps and opportunities; provide analytical recommendations to improve operational performance.
- Conduct root cause analysis of production losses, quality issues, process variability, and inefficiencies.
- Develop forecasting tools, predictive models, and analytical solutions to support planning and decision-making.
- Support Lean, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence initiatives through measurement and reporting.
- Lead analytics initiatives, automate reporting, and track business outcomes; promote Industry 4.0, digital manufacturing, and automation strategies.
Training & Team Support
- Serve as the subject matter expert for manufacturing analytics, reporting, and KPI management; guide leadership and cross-functional teams on methodologies and best practices.
- Provide guidance, training, and consultation on KPI management, data interpretation, and analytics tools to support data-driven decisions.
- Mentor colleagues and promote data literacy and analytical excellence across the organization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication
- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Finance, HR, IT, and Digital Manufacturing to address challenges and achieve objectives.
- Present findings and recommendations to leadership; support customer audits and business reviews.
- Develop data-driven business cases and influence capital investment decisions; support manufacturing expansion and scale-up.
Quality, Safety, & Compliance
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of manufacturing data; maintain data governance and comply with policies and regulations.
- Support safety, quality, environmental, and operational compliance through reporting and analysis; foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Physical Demands and PPE
