Overview
We are looking for a Quality Control Inspector – Level 2 to join our high‑volume lithium‑ion battery manufacturing team in De Soto, Kansas. The role involves independent inspection, root‑cause analysis, and continuous improvement of quality processes.
ResponsibilitiesThe Quality Control Inspector – Level 2 supports product quality by performing inspections, analyzing data, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams. Key duties include:
- Perform inspections following control plans and SOPs
- Use precision measurement tools to verify product conformity
- Verify calibration of inspection equipment and document results
- Identify and document nonconformities, escalating issues as needed
- Analyze inspection data to identify trends and support countermeasures
- Assist in root‑cause analysis and contribute to corrective & preventive actions
- Recommend process improvements based on quality data
- Train and mentor inspectors at lower or equivalent levels
- Communicate findings, trends, and quality concerns to stakeholders
- Participate in internal and external quality audits
- Maintain adherence to quality, safety, and company policies, including 6S and PPE requirements

- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- 1.5+ years of quality inspection or related manufacturing experience
- Working knowledge of quality control procedures and measurement tools
- Ability to read technical documents, drawings, and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and ability to document nonconformities
- Independent work within guidelines and escalation ability
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Basic data analysis and familiarity with root‑cause analysis concepts
- Computer proficiency (MS Office, data entry)
- Safety‑conscious mindset with PPE compliance
- Ability to meet physical job requirements
- Working‑level English proficiency
- Alignment with Panasonic’s core principles
- 2+ years in manufacturing or inspection, preferably battery, automotive, or electronics
- Progression from PECNA Level 1 or equivalent
- Experience with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or similar quality systems
- Statistical Process Control and basic root‑cause analysis tools (5 Whys, fishbone)
- Familiarity with MES or ERP systems
- Quality audit or continuous improvement experience
- Associate’s degree or technical certification in Quality, Manufacturing, or related field (preferred)
- Six Sigma Yellow Belt (or equivalent) (preferred)
- OSHA 10‑Hour or 30‑Hour General Industry Certification (preferred)
Wearing full PPE including Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and full hazmat suit with respirator. Respirator fit test required.
