Surgical Dental Assistant – Periodontal Specialty
Full-Time | $20–$25/hour | 40 hours/week
We are seeking an experienced Surgical Dental Assistant specializing in Periodontics to join our busy, state-of-the-art multi‑specialty dental practice. This is an exciting opportunity to work directly alongside a board‑certified periodontist in a team‑focused environment with modern technology and strong referral flow from both our connected general dentistry office and outside providers.
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- 1–2 Saturdays per month required
- When working a Saturday, you’ll receive a weekday off.
- $20–$25 per hour, based on experience
- Assist chairside with periodontal surgeries and implant procedures
- Anticipate the needs of the periodontist during surgical procedures
- Utilize advanced technology including CBCT imaging, iTero and Open Dental software
- Maintain efficient clinical flow in a fast‑paced, high‑volume surgical setting
- Support sterilization, operatory setup, and patient care before and after procedures
- Collaborate closely with a strong, supportive clinical team
- Minimum 2+ years of dental assisting experience
- Active RDA and/or X‑ray certification (required)
- Surgical or periodontal assisting experience strongly preferred
- Ability to anticipate provider needs, stay organized, and thrive in a fast environment

Education and Training
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one‑year related experience and/or training or the equivalent of a combination of education and experience in the dental profession.
- Valid X‑ray certificate.
- Current license if CDA, RDA, or EFDA (per state requirements).
- CPR & first aid certificate.
FLSA Status: Hourly, Non‑Exempt
