Imperial a Villa Center is seeking a Nurse Supervisor LPN to join their team! The Nurse Supervisor LPN provides leadership and oversight to nursing staff during non-business hours, ensuring appropriate staffing, workflow, and quality patient care. It involves acting as the highest on-site authority after-hours, making timely decisions, resolving clinical challenges, and maintaining care standards. Responsibilities include direct nursing care, administrative tasks, coordination with other departments, and support for staff development.

Supervisor LPN Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide oversight and leadership to all on-duty nursing staff during non-business hours. Ensure proper staffing levels, monitor workflow, and assist with prioritizing patient care tasks. Address staff concerns and promote a positive, collaborative work environment.

  • Act as the highest-ranking on-site authority during after-hours and weekends. Make timely decisions related to patient care, staffing, safety, and operations. Collaborate with other departments when needed and elevate issues appropriately.

  • Offer clinical expertise and support in resolving patient care challenges. Assist with complex cases or difficult family situations. Handle call‑ins or last‑minute staffing changes, ensuring coverage and continuity of care.

  • Make frequent rounds to note resident/patient conditions and to ensure nursing personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards.

  • Give and receive the nursing report upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours.

  • Ensure assigned work area (i.e. nurse station, med. cart, medication room, etc.), resident/patient care rooms and treatment areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner.

  • Ensure medication rooms and medication carts are locked according to regulation.

  • Monitor supplies and order as needed.

  • Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc.

  • Develop and participate in programs designed for in‑service education, on‑the‑job training and orientation classes for newly assigned personnel.

  • Maintain close coordination with all departments to ensure continuity and collaboration of services.

  • Provide required resident assessments/observations and interventions, reviewing care plans to ensure appropriate care.

  • Document all pertinent data as required by Medicare, Medicaid, company standards and policies.

  • Ensure that direct nursing care is provided by a licensed nurse, a certified nursing assistant, and/or a nurse aide trainee qualified to perform the procedure.

  • Attend and participate in in‑service classes, performance improvement ("PI") committees, continuing education in‑service programs and other meetings as assigned.

  • All other duties, as assigned.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Ability to multi‑task and remain calm under stress.

  • Analytical and problem‑solving skills.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and delegate to others.

  • Understands and follows infection control standards, policies and procedures.

  • Must be able to adapt to a flexible work schedule and occasional overnight travel.

  • Possess special interest in and a positive attitude about working with short and long‑term care residents and the elderly.

  • Demonstrate basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications. Microsoft Office version 1997, 2000 or XP, MS Word, MS Access, MS Excel, E‑mail, Outlook, Internet Explorer.

Nurse Supervisor LPN

Education and Experience
  • Nursing Degree or diploma from an accredited College or University.

  • Possess a current license to practice in the State as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.

  • Long‑Term care and MDS experience preferred.

Physical Requirements
  • Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.
