Job Description- Seneca Middle School
- 8hrs/day
- 6:45am-3:15pm
- Paygrade 3- $20.01/hr

Position Summary
Performs a wide variety of clerical support services to facilitate the efficient operation of the middle school main office, while maintaining confidentiality.
Duties and Responsibilities(These duties and responsibilities are judged to be "essential functions" in terms of the Americans With Disabilities Act or ADA)
- Maintains student records.
- Maintains immunization and other health records.
- Process student registrations.
- Maintains, processes, updates and verifies student attendance records and enters data into school computer systems.
- Accesses the attendance telephone line, documents and monitors student attendance, and approves releases from school and issues passes; logs daily absences and tardies retrieved from phone calls, teachers, etc.
- Process purchase orders and order supplies using the E-catalog system.
- Schedule and process building use requests.
- Dispense student medication.
- Assist in maintaining the master schedule.
- Assist in preparing school correspondence, ie. Parent teacher conferences, locker assignments, book finds, etc.
- Creates student programs, awards, certificates, newsletters, etc.
- Schedule internal teachers to sub for emergencies/meetings.
- Operate office machines, such as photocopiers, scanners, computers, printers, calculators, facsimile machines, voicemail systems, and telephones.
- Communicate with customers, employees, students, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information and address complaints.

Education, Experiences, Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
Education:
This position requires high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:- One year of related experience providing clerical support in an office setting preferred.
- Knowledge of basic math, required.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services, required.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, spreadsheets, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures, required.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar, required.
- Ability to read and interpret district policies, guidelines, handbook, and government regulations, required.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, required.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form, required.
- Ability and willingness to learn different software systems, required.
- Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast paced work environment, required.
- Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with teachers, community, students and staff, required.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to perform essential job duties, including but not limited to understanding and following safety instructions, responding appropriately to emergency situations, completing documentation, and interacting with English-speaking staff, students, community and supervisors, required.
