We are hiring Test Technicians to work at the Body and Chassis Dyno lab in Dearborn, MI.
This position requires individuals with some knowledge and experience in automotive, either on the job or as a hobby. Testing responsibilities involve durability simulation of subsystems and components. Tasks include mechanical preparation and instrumentation, test execution, data collection, and post‑test removal of equipment and automotive components. Work with vehicle suspension components and subsystems, open and install transducers, accelerometers, load cells, potentiometers, and other electrical equipment.
Responsibilities- Complete test-related duties as assigned during daily scheduling meetings. Execute work independently with quality and efficiency.
- Receive parts and prepare for first run and subsequent runs according to test matrices.
- Conduct test stand sample preparation, fixturing, installation and removal, photographic documentation, test execution, data collection and review.
- Run standard tests and support test engineers for unique one-off testing in a lab environment.
- Run multiple test facilities simultaneously.
- Meet all workplace health and safety requirements and practices. Provide feedback and identify opportunities to improve workplace conditions.
- Ensure customer satisfaction is maintained and proper data quality is achieved.
- Act as a self‑starter, highly motivated, strong team player with a positive attitude.

- High School Diploma required.
- Proficient electrical and mechanical knowledge and skills.
- Good interpersonal, computer, oral and written skills.
- Fabrication experience in a general machine shop (drill press, band saw, grinders, welding, mill, etc.).
- Proof‑reading and test fixture layout/build skills.
- Associate’s in Automotive Technology or a combination of 2 years’ experience and college.
- Previous experience in a testing environment, including hydraulic or pneumatic system controller experience, automotive system/sub‑system familiarization, and MTS controller familiarization.
- Three (3) or more years’ experience in vehicle system and subsystem related testing preferred.
- Three (3) or more years’ experience in vehicle or lab testing preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office and PC based systems.
- Knowledge of overall vehicle systems (chassis, body, seat, suspension preferred). Engine and transmission experience a plus.
Lifting: up to 50 lbs of vehicle parts such as seats, doors, and suspension parts – 35% of time.
Climbing: stairs – 15% of time.
Special clothing/equipment: safety glasses, slip‑resistant hardened‑toe shoes, gloves, long pants, and short sleeves – 100% of time.
Physical requirements:
sitting 50%, standing 50%, bending 25%, stooping 25% – job requires manual labor.
Noise level: high vibration tables and test cell noise – 30% of time.
Environment: inside work – 100% of time. Extreme temperatures (hot/cold test chambers) – 30% of time. Hazardous conditions (rotating equipment, engines, hot exhaust, trip hazards) – 100% of time.
Equipment: computer analyzers – 70%; forklifts and vehicles – 15%; hand tools (hammer, screwdriver, wrenches, ratchets, sockets) – 40% of time.
Attendance:
Monday‑Friday regular time with occasional overtime; day shift; punctuality and regular attendance critical.
