Epitec is seeking to support the largest U.S. automaker in hiring a Technician / Technologist Chassis for the Chassis Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) Testing Team in Dearborn, MI. This individual will support the development, assembly, maintenance, and testing of chassis hardware systems by building test stands, fabricating components, wiring harnesses, and integrating vehicle hardware into non-vehicle testing environments.

  • Shift: Morning Shift | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) chassis test stands

  • Fabricate and assemble brackets, fixtures, and test stand components

  • Build wiring harnesses and perform electrical wiring of test equipment

  • Read, create, and update wiring schematics

  • Integrate vehicle chassis hardware into test environments

  • Configure and wire Arduino-based hardware interfaces

  • Perform machining and prototype fabrication activities

  • Troubleshoot wiring, hardware, and test stand issues

  • Support development of non-vehicle testing solutions for chassis components

  • Maintain lab equipment and test infrastructure

Requirements
Required
  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 1–3 years of experience building wiring harnesses

  • 1–3 years of experience creating and interpreting wiring schematics

  • 1–3 years of experience building automotive test stands or in-vehicle test equipment

  • Experience with electrical wiring and troubleshooting

  • Experience with prototyping and hardware fabrication

  • Ability to use machining equipment and fabricate components

  • Experience assembling mechanical and electrical systems

Preferred
  • Associate of Science in Automotive Service Technology

  • BS in Engineering Technology

  • ASE Certifications (Undercar and/or Engine Performance)

  • 1–3 years of Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) environment experience

  • Arduino hardware integration experience

  • Automotive testing background
